The Key Fob is a small device that comes with Cycloop. When the Fey Fob is not present near the device, any sufficient movement or vibration activates Alarm mode in Cycloop.
You can add up to 3 Key Fobs to each Cycloop device. If you happen to have more than one Cycloop, the same Key Fob can be used with multiple devices.
Important! Cycloop Key Fob is not supposed to be used as a key chain and should be kept separate from your other keys. This way if your keys are stolen or lost, you will not need to fear your bicycle will be stolen without any notifications.
If you have a second generation Key Fob make sure to keep it away from water as it is not waterproof. It looks like this:
Third generation Key Fobs meets IP65 standards, meaning they are protected from dust and against low-pressure water jets, such as a faucet/short dip. Keep in mind IP65 is NOT rated for complete submersion in water over extended periods of time. 3rd generation Key Fobs look like this:
Fourth generation Key Fob is actually the one that comes with the Cycloop.
They meet IP65 standards, meaning they are protected from dust and against low-pressure water jets, such as a faucet/short dip. Keep in mind IP65 is NOT rated for complete submersion in water over extended periods of time. 4th generation Key Fobs look like this:
Tip!
If you keep your vehicle close to your house, less than 30 meters away (100 ft) - make sure the Key Fob and device do not maintain a Bluetooth connection with each other. If they do - the alarm will not start until the bike/device is taken outside of Key Fob range.
If your bike is kept outside and the Key Fob is inside, the reception zone can vary from few meters to 30 meters (100 ft), depending on walls and other objects. Only in rare occasions can the Key Fob connect to the device at more than 15 meters (50 ft) distance, as walls or windows usually limit radio signal range.
You can change the signal range the Key Fob will be detected by the tracker in App - Settings - Connect (phone/tracker close by) - Key Fobs - Reduce Key Fob signal range - use the slider to change from min. to max. by default it is set at maximum range.
How to test?
Leave the Fey Fob at home where you usually keep it. Go to your bike and App -> Settings -> Connect -> Key Fobs menu and check if the Key Fob shows any signal. Refresh by swiping down if needed.
If the connection is still present - we suggest finding a different place at home to keep your Key Fob or to place your Key Fob in a signal blocking pouch/metal box.
